Tshiamo Maluleka-Disemelo is Chief Executive Officer of ICASA, in the role since February 2023.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) regulates broadcasting, postal and electronic communications. In January 2026 she told Parliament that ICASA was evaluating bids from companies to run its next spectrum auction.

  1. ICASA appointed her chief executive on a five-year contract from 1 February 2023, after five months under an acting CEO. Source

  2. She called for collaborative regulation as technology, including AI, outpaced existing regulatory systems, and said ICASA was working on an AI policy framework with the communications department and Parliament. Source
