Pearl Bengu is Group Chief Executive Officer of Ithala Development Finance Corporation, in the role since November 2018.

Ithala Development Finance Corporation is the KwaZulu-Natal provincial development finance group, which also runs industrial estates at Madadeni, Isithebe and Ezakheni. In August 2025 Bengu rejected a union claim that 40% of its industrial property stood vacant.
