Zanele Matlala is Chief Executive Officer of Merafe Resources, in the role since 2012.

Merafe Resources is a JSE-listed chrome company that holds a stake in the Glencore-Merafe Chrome Venture, from which it draws its revenue. All the venture's operating smelters were idled from the second quarter of 2025 because of high power costs and competition from Chinese producers.
