Thabane Zulu is Chief Executive Officer of Richards Bay IDZ, in the role since July 2020.

The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) is a KwaZulu-Natal state-owned company that develops and manages a special economic zone. It reported an investment pipeline of about R248 billion across 24 potential projects in July 2026.
