Louis Nel is Chief Executive Officer of Manganese Metal Company.

Manganese Metal Company (MMC) runs a refinery in Mbombela that has operated since 1974 and is the world's largest producer of selenium-free electrolytic manganese metal. In February 2025 it awarded a contract for a crystalliser plant to make battery-grade manganese sulphate.
