Lizelle van der Merwe is Chief Executive Officer of FIA, in the role since November 2016.

The Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa is a non-profit body lobbying for brokers, financial advisers and discretionary investment managers, and says it represents more than 12 000 licensed advisers. In October 2026 the South African Insurance Association named Van der Merwe its next chief executive.
